How to Use: Soak your Proraso brush in a bowl or cup filled with hot water for a few minutes before your shave. Apply a warm, damp towel to your face (or splash with warm water) to prepare your skin. Apply your favorite Proraso Pre-Shave Cream, then place another hot towel on your face for a few seconds. After the brush has soaked, gently squeeze out excess water, leaving it mostly wet. Apply the brush to the soap in fast, repeated circular motions to coat the bristles well. Spread the lather on your beard and proceed with shaving. Close the lid after use to keep the soap from drying out (even if it does dry out, it will not lose its efficacy or beneficial properties when reused). Shave and rinse your face thoroughly. For an optimal experience, finish with another application of your warm, damp towel, followed by your favorite Proraso After Shave Balm or Lotion.

To build up a rich lather, run your shaving brush under hot water for about 30 seconds, if you don't have time to soak it. Apply the brush to the soap in fast, repeated circular motions to coat the bristles well. Spread the lather on your beard, shave and rinse, following with your favorite Proraso After Shave Balm or Lotion. Close the lid after use to keep the soap from drying out (even if it does dry out, it will not lose its efficacy or beneficial properties when reused).

You'll notice that our soap may require more water than you're used to in order to achieve the ideal lather. This is a result of its manufacturing process and what makes Proraso soap so special. Due to its lower moisture content, you'll need more water on your shaving brush (we suggest soaking it for a few minutes prior to lathering) and perhaps a bit more patience at first to achieve the signature Proraso lather: rich, dense, elastic, and long-lasting. Once you do, you'll truly see the difference and understand why it has become a staple of shaving culture over the last six decades.

10 Tips for the Perfect Shave 1. Morning is the best time to shave, as your skin is at its softest and most relaxed just after waking up, allowing the razor to glide easier. 2. Always use a Proraso Pre-Shave Cream, as it softens and straightens the hairs, making it easier to apply the shaving cream and pre-conditioning the skin. 3. Wrap your face in a warm, wet towel, just like traditional barbers do, or shave after your morning shower when the skin is soft and hydrated. 4. The best lather comes from a brush and shaving cream or soap. Applying the product with a brush increases the volume of your beard hair and allows for a closer shave. 5. To build up a rich lather, wet your shaving brush and apply the cream in fast, repeated circular motions to coat the bristles well. 6. When shaving, use a delicate but firm stroke, without too much pressure on the razor, and follow the lines of your face, always keeping the skin pulled tight. 7. Keep your razor clean by rinsing the blade with hot water at least once every two swipes to remove residue and maintain blade effectiveness. 8. For the perfect shave, one pass just doesn't cut it - lather your face a second time and repeat the shave. 9. Don't neglect your post-shave routine - rinse your face well and repeatedly to remove any residue, then always use a Proraso After Shave Balm or Lotion to disinfect, restore, and soften your skin. 10.
